About:China Transit Visa

Do I need a transit visa? Can I go in the city?

I have Indian passport and I am going to Canada. There is a layover of 12 hours in Shanghai.

You can enjoy 24h twov in Shanghai, and no need to apply for a transit G. But leaving the airport is no longer possible if your layover is less than 24 hours regardless of nationality. Some reported that bringing a hotel reservation will help.
