About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Chinese Visa. Do we need it?

We are US citizen going on a cruise on March 30,2019 from Shanghai but planning on coming 2 days early so we could tour Shanghai. We will stay in a hotel. Cruise itinerary includes 2 days in Beijeng.

Hi, Evelyn. if you will tour the city of Shanghai and Beijing after entering mainland China, you are supposed to apply for a tourist L type for that.
