About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Bangkok Shanghai and then copenhagen

I have booked flights and have tickets and even some boardingpasses for flights Bangkok to Shanghai (arriving 28-6 at 05:30 hour) and departure to Copenhagen from Shanghai at 30-6 at 22:10)
Passport is Dutch.
Based on above I should be able to apply for 72 hour free transit.

Now I just find out that my flight from Shanghai to Copenhagen makes an extra stop in Beijing of 2 hours before it continues........ is this an issue or since it is all within 72 hours no problem

Robert, you are not eligible for the free transit because of the layover in Beijing. Try to change your flights or apply for a visa for the trip beforehand.

I am trying to change my flights already...... to get visa beforehand is too short notice.
The layover in Beijing is actually without collecting luggage so I go from one plane into the other.....
Thanks for your help

As long as you have a stopover in Beijing, you won't qualify for the free transit then.
