X2 visa to residence permit

Hi ..how are you ? I'm here in China with my x2 and I plan to stay longer and work . how can I apply for a residence permit

If you want to work in mainland China legally, you can try to convert your current X2 to a work Z at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB within China. If it can succeed, you can apply for a Chinese residence permit at the local PSB then.

To convert x2 to z do i need to go out of china first or I can do it whilst I'm in china ?

You can try to do that at the local PSB within China.
