American living in Vietnam needs work (Z type) for China

Hello,
I live and work in Vietnam but will start work in China this fall (August 2018). I have all documents legalized at CN consulate in US but am back in VN now. Can I take all required documents to the CN Consulate in HCMC and get my Z there or does if have to be done in my home country?

Hi, Burnie, I think you can take all required documents to the CN Consulate in HCMC and get your work Z there. If you are worried, you can call the consulate to confirm this before you do that. Good luck.
