About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi. From Hong Kong to Shanghai and back to Hong Kong

I am a US citizen who has a training visa in Hong Kong. Is it possible to take advantage of 72-hour policy if I plan to fly to Shanghai over the weekend and fly back to Hong Kong within 72-hour period? Thanks for your response in advance!

Shanghai doesn´t have a 72h twov but 144h.

HK - Shanghai - HK is not a transit so you can´t take advantage of the 144h policy.
But if you fly HK - Shanghai - Macau then you´re fine.
