About:Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport

i will be transiting through guangzhou on my way from shanghai (pvg) to kathmandu

do i need to claim my baggage in GZ or will it go straight to kathmandu? i've travelled this route before, and the baggage usually goes to kathmandu directly, but this post says transferring from domestic to international requires baggage claim in GZ. please clarify

Generally, if you have a connect flight, you don’t have to claim the baggage. If you don’t, you need a baggage claim.
