from hong kong to guang zhou by train

Question

Hi planning to travel to HK in November. Plan to spend a day in guang Zhou & return to HK in the same day. Any advise on the transportation? Coach, ferry, train.

I suppose the high speed rail should be available at this time, you can consider the high speed rail. Coach is also OK, ferry is not very convenient to use as the landing in Guang Zhou is far from the city area and less departures a day.
