About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can the inbound country and outbound both be in the EU?

My partner wants to join me in Shanghai for the weekend and use 72 or 144 hour free transit. If she flies from the uk via Paris. And back home via Amsterdam will that class as transit as she will be flying to different countries?

Alex, if the travel route would be UK-Paris-Shanghai-Amsterdam-UK, it will be fine for applying for the 144 hr free transit in Shanghai. No need to worry.
