About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Transiting from Japan to Canada

I am going from Osaka to Shanghai to Canada. ~36 hour layover on two separate tickets. Would that still qualify for a transit visa as they are on seperate tickets?

Separate tickets are not a problem as long as you do not have additional stops in Mainland China.
