About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hello, 3 city transit

I am a UK citizen & want to fly into Beijing for 3 days, then fly to Shanghai for 3 days then Hong Kong for 5 days, before flying onto Seoul. Will I be covered by the 144 hour fee transit (3 days + 3 days). Would I be eligible for the 3 day visa waiver at both cities without needing entry permit?

You clearly need a visa in advance. Two stops limits you to 24 hours.

Thanks for the speedy reply. What if I was to go Bejing for 72hrs (free transit) then hong kong (5 days) then Shanghai for 72 hours (free transit)?

If your travel route would be UK-Beijing-HK-Shanghai-Seoul, you can enjoy 144 hr free transit in Beijing and Shanghai respectively. No visa is needed.
