About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Continue Study

Currently im a graduating student in Ningbo University and im going to study in Hangzhou next semester for language. My resident permit will end in July but the language terms starts in Septermber. If i intend to stay in Ningbo from july-september is it possible to stay? how do I extend my resident permit?

Contact the people from the university in Hangzhou you are going to study in, they will be the one that extends your resident permit. It is most likely that you will start the extension process around June, and you will get a new resident permit by July. As for intending to stay in Ningbo during July-September, you should be fine as long as you have obtained the new resident permit (from the university in Hangzhou).

I called them, but they told me I have to go back first to my home country for July-September because the terms starts in September and they can only issue a new x1 for September.

Try to explain to them that processing a new x1 type will be much more work (for them too) than just extending/continuing from the current residence permit, because you will need to do the whole visa application back in your home country, including the health check and everything else AND you have to make the residence permit again.
It will be helpful if you can be on-site (in Hangzhou) during the residence permit renewal process.
Have you been accepted by the university in Hangzhou? If they have, and if you are there, show them your valid residence permit and ask them to extend it.
