Verification of Eligibility for 144 hr China Visa

Hi...I believe I qualify (US Citizen)...but I would feel much better if someone else could confirm/advise please.

Flying US-PVG (Aug 31) PVG-BKK (Sep2) BKK-PVG (Sep 4) and PVG-US (Sep 6)

I have 3 countries... starting in US (Country A) Transit country China/Shanghai (Country B) and Destination Thailand/Bangkok. I am in transit twice in Shanghai.

My flights, however, are on (2)different airlines. I have a round trip ticket PVG to BKK and a RT US - PVG as it was less expensive...will that be an issue? Do I just tell the carrier I am travelling on to China both times that I will be in Transit when I board/check in?

Sorry for all the questions but this is my 1st time to China and a bit nervous...

Thanks in advance!!!

You are eligible for 144 hr free transit in Shanghai, and your separate tickets from different airlines are okay. Don't worry.
