About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

VISA Question. I am traveling with a group of 7 from USA to Ulan Bator, Mongolia.

We have a brief layover in Beijing on our way to Mongolia, as well as on our return, where we will need to re-check luggage. Do we need entry permits? I have read about the transit visa but am not sure the procedure for receiving it. Could use some help.

Thanks,

Hi, if your travel route would be USA-Beijing-Mongolia-Beijing-USA, you can enjoy free transit policy in mainland China in both directions. No visa is needed.
