I can show them my booking for Hong Kong but since I am not checked in (and cannot check in yet) I dont know how to show them my confirmed seat? Is it ok anyway if they see the booking? Passengers should hold an onward ticket with a confirmed seat and date

You don't need a confirmed seat, you need a confirmed ticket. There is no requirement to select a seat in advance.

You don't need a confirmed "seat", you need a confirmed ticket. There is no requirement to select a seat in advance.
