About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi, we are travelling from NZ to the UK via shanghai....

I believe we qualify for the 72hr visa-free transit. After leaving the airport am I correct that we need to register our stay at the local police station within 24hrs? Thank you

If you will stay in the hotel in Shanghai, the hostels will do it for you. You don't need to go to the police station in person.
