About:Jinshanling Great Wall

We'll be traveling from Beijing to the Jinshanling or Simatai area in order to visit the Great Wall.

Which area will be more advisable for convenience of transportation to Datong? Is there a bus or train that can take us to Datong from the JSL or Simatai area.? Thank you all for the good advise you provide. A

You are advised to go to Jinshanling section first. However, there is no direct transportation between Datong and Beijing Great Wall.
Take a train to Beijing Railway Station. Then take metro line 2 to Dongzhimen. Take bus line 980 Express to Miyun County at Dongzhimen Long Distance Bus Station. After arriving, hire a car to the scenic area. :)
