Transit visa Urumqi

Hi guys - I am an Italian passport holder flying from Tashkent to Guangzhou, China, with a 2 hours and 5 minutes stopover in Urumqi. I will stay 24 hours at Guangzhou and then fly to Auckland, New Zealand.

I know that I can get a 72-Hour Free Transit in Guangzhou, however, I read that I may need to apply for a transit visa for Urumqi. Is that correct?

Yes, Claudio, you need to apply for a visa for the trip because of your layover in Urumqi. Try to apply for it before your trip.
