About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

LAX -> Shanghai-> Phnom Penh

Hi, I'm plan to have a 72 hours free transit in Shanghai to visit (Shanghai, and Beijing) with the 72 hours free transit can I purchase a "round trip or one way" bullet train ticked to beijing? or does the 72 hours free visa have restriction on miles away from the transit city?

You cannot visit both Shanghai and Beijing without a visa. Transit without visa allows transit in Shanghai or Beijing areas, but not both.

hmm how about I put it this way, is it possible for me to buy a bullet train ticket to other close by cities with a 72 no visa visit? like Shanghai to Hangzhou as long as schedule myself to continue my fly from Shanghai to Phnom Penh on time?

Yes, that's possible. You can travel in Shanghai, Zhejiang and Jiangsu.

cool, Thank you for the information. Is that the possible provinces if I transit in Shanghai or is there more provinces I can visit? sorry for all the questions.. I just want to know the possibility so I can have a better plan on the trip :)

That's all the provinces and cities you can visit. Also there's no need to leave from Shanghai. You can leave from airports in Nanjing and Hangzhou as well (although leaving from any places other than Shanghai, Nanjing and Hangzhou is not allowed).
