About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

UK - Beijing - Tokyo

My flight arrives in Beijing at 05:50am from the UK. I then have a seperate one way flight booked (not a straight connection) to Tokyo at 13:30pm. Am I able to get a 24 hour visa upon arrival and then check in for my flight to Tokyo once I have a visa? Since it is not a connecting flight and two separate bookings have been made I am unsure on this matter. Thank you.

You don't need a visa. When you check-in in the UK, you will need to show your confirmed onward ticket to Tokyo.
