About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

CORRECTION. US citizen traveling to Thailand from Seattle

with a 23 hr layover in Xiamen, Do i need to apply for a visa and a visa and can I leave the airport to explore?

You qualify for 24 hour direct transit in Xiamen, no visa is required, and you can leave the airport. Nice trip.
