vietnam to beijing then to hongkong

looking to get the free 72 hour visa so i can see the great wall. and then fly to hongkong after, will i be allowed the 72 hour visa? if flying to hongkong from beijing

Vietnam-Beijing-Hong Kong will be covered by the 144 hr free transit in Beijing. No visa is needed for that trip.
