About:China Visa

Q1 Visa. Hi, my wife is a resident of China and I am an Australian citizen

and I'm planning to work remotely in China (IT-work) so I can be with my wife. My employer is an Australian-based company and my salary will still be paid in Australia.
I have visited the China Embassy in Melbourne and they said I can go for the Q1 Visa and then apply for a temporary residence in China.
My wife has also called the Bureau of Exit and Entry control in China and they said that remote work is fine.
Could anyone please confirm?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, David, I think you can apply for a Q1 type and then do the remote work within mainland China. Don't worry.
