144-Hour Visa-free Transit in Guangzhou for Canadians?

On my way home from Manila, Philippines to Vancouver via confirme flight itinerary with China Southern Airlines, I plan on stopping by Guangzhou for 4 days to attend the Canton Fair. I have a Canadian passport. Do I need a visa? Am I eligible to avail of the 144-hour free transit program? Has it been implemented by the Guangdong government?

There's no 144-hour transit in Guangzhou, only 72 hours which starts from the day after arrival. So if your stats any longer than that, you'll need a visa.
