About:China Visa

Need a visa?Thank you.

We are U.S. citizens traveling from the United States to Hong Kong for 5 nights. We would like to depart from Hong Kong to Shanghai via airport to stay there for 3 nights. We would then leave from Shanghai airport back to the United States. Must we get a travel visa or does this constitute the 3 different countries sufficient to satisfy the 72 or 144 hour exemption?

Hi, you are able to enjoy 144 hr free transit in Shanghai for the trip of Hong Kong-Shanghai-United States, and no visa is required for that. Nice trip.
