About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144 Hour Transit Visa As a Canadian

can I fly to Shanghai go on a cruise return to Shanghai stay 144 hours and return to Canada. Or do I have to have fly to another country before returning to Canada.

You cannot get 144 hr free transit for the trip of Canada-Shanghai-Canada. You need to fly to another country before returning to Canada.

It depends on where your cruise goes. If its first stop is in another country, you enter that country then you can return for another transit without visa.
