About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi, Can I leave the airport?

I'm from Guatemala, a Central American country. We are planning to travel to Shanghai in June. We are already applying to our one entry Visa to Shanghai, China. My question is, our flight has a very long layover in Beijing on the way back... Could we get out of the airport, do one of the tours they offer from the airport to the Great Wall and come back for our flight?

I've seen the 24 hours country list and my country is not there. Does that mean there's no way to leave the airport?

Thanks,
Mj

Hi, if you are traveling Country A - Beijing (24 hours) - Country B then you can apply for the 24 hr direct transit in there, and you can leave the airport to visit the city.

If you have a single visa for China as you mentioned you can travel within China wherever you want (execpt Tibet).
So if you fly from Shanghai to Beijing, it´s still a domestic flight and you have to clear the border control in Beijing for your flight back home.
Beforehand you can leave the airport as you wish.
