Hi, Is it possible for me to travel from Stockholm to Shanghai for 3 days then take a train to Beijing for 3 days then fly to HK? So the stay time in Mainland China is within 144hrs but it crosses over both Shanghai and Beijing areas?

Not possible. You can transit in Shanghai or Beijing, but not both (unless you have a visa).
