overnight trip to shenzen from hong kong

Can I travel overnight to Shenzen using the 72 hour visa free entry? I have a Canadian passport.I arrive in Hong Kong in May and want to take the ferry to Shenzen stay overnight and return to Hong Kong the next morning.

You cannot enjoy free transit policy in Shenzhen. But it's possible for you to apply for Shenzhen VOA at the port between HK and Shenzhen, and you can try to apply for it.
