About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Am I eligible for the 144-hours free visa transit

I will arrive into Shanghai on 25 April 2018 at about 18:30.
My flight departs Shanghai on 02 May 2018 at 00:15. I will only be staying in Shanghai (the visa coverage area).

My 144 hrs free period starts 26 April 2018 at 00:01 and ends at 01 May 2018 23:59 (16 minutes before my flight departs Shanghai airport).

If I clear Chinese immigration at Pudong (Shanghai) airport BEFORE 01 May 2018 23:59 do I need entry permit?

Hi, Meagan, you are eligible for the 144 hr free transit in Shanghai by traveling like that. No visa is needed.

You need a visa, or you need to change your flight. Your stay exceeds the time allowed under the 144 hours rule, and you will be denied boarding for your flight to Shanghai.

Thanks Kevin,

Pretty sure your answer is correct. Although should've calculated before I booked my flight!
