Regarding invitation letter details

Dear Sir,
As per the visa instruction on the website of china embassy for visiting one would need: "Invitation letter issued by travel agencies registered in the Mainland of China". But in case if I have my friends who is currently studying under x1, will her invitation letter be valid?
