About:China Train

I went through security at Wuhan station and they took my Victorinox Schweitzer knife

and took a photo of my passport, what is going to happen? Did I commit a crime and if so will I be fined?

I don't think so. I suppose they were making a record who it belongs to. If you will return to the station later and want it back, you can show your passport to have it back.

I've heard that anyone purchasing knives of a certain size in China have to register.
