About:144-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

am I ok for the 144 hr visa ?

I am a Irish citizen, I will arrive into Beijing airport from Tokyo for 5.5 days (127 hrs), after Beijing I will return home

Also when does this take effect ? My flight is in 8 days 😂

Yes, you can use the visa waiver. The time is started to be counted from 00:00 on your following day of your arrival. Say, you arrive at 8:00am on Mar. 15, they will start to count the 144h from 00:00 of Mar. 16.
