About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Itinerary: Flying from LHR to Shanghai in December 2019.

The plan is to fly to Hong Kong on arrival at Shanghai ( so just a stopover of a few hours, planning to stay within the airport).

Then from Hong Kong we will be going to Philipinnes and them from Philipinnes flying back to Shanghai (stopover) for a flight to LHR. Do we need a visa?

AMSTERDAM-XIAMEN-SINGAPORE-AMSTERDAM will be fine to apply for the 72 hr free transit. But Amsterdam-Singapore-Xiamen-Singapore-Amsterdam is not a transit, so this cannot apply for the free transit.
