Chinese Visa type for boarding ship from Shanghai

Hello there, I will be taking a cruise from Shanghai that travels to Beijing (Tianjin), Dalian and then to Japan. I will arrive in Shanghai by plane.

Is a single entry Chinese Visa sufficient?

Many thanks
