About:China Great Wall

Closing at 5pm strict?

I will be arriving in the late afternoon. It says the wall closes at 5pm and I know the cable car and tabboggan close earlier. Are they strict in asking people to leave? Or can I take my time coming down off the wall? Is the 5pm close time just for anyone wishing to start their journey onto the wall?

Don't worry. It means that 17:00 is the last time to sell the entrance tickets. You can enter the scenic area before that time. And the staff won't ask people to leave.
