China visa for Ecuadorians

I'm an Ecuadorian passport holder in china on a 30 day visa waiver. I need to stay in China for an additional 2 weeks. Can I just run over to Hong Kong and come back in on another visa waiver, or is it 30 days per year? I'm very confused, and not getting a response from the Chinese consulate in Ecuador.

It's 30 days per entry, so when you do a visa run you'll be given another 30 days. There's no limit of how many days you can stay in a year.
