About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hong Kong to Shanghai to Osaka

We are flying from Hong Kong to Shanghai (Pudong) on 3/26, then to Osaka on 3/29. I just want to confirm that we are able to use the visa-free transit. Do we need any other documentation besides the passport and proof of departing flight? Thanks!

Your route is fine, assuming your passports qualify. If you have booked accommodation in Shanghai then print out and carry copies of your confirmation including the telephone numbers (it's not essential but it's often helpful).
