baggage collection between international flights at beijing capital airport

Question

Please give instructions on how to collect baggage when transferring between flights at PEK.  Unable to check luggage through.  Do we have to go to transfer desk, immigration, collect baggage, customs and then check in again at departures and go through immigration, security etc again. If so what is the approximate time factor?  Have got 2.40 hours.   Many thanks.

The mentioned procedures are correct without luggage check-through service, and the transit time is enough. Take it easy! All guiding signs in the airport are both in Chinese and English.
