how much does it cost to book your tickets for the forbidden city online in chinese?

1.  what is the process involved. I see above that you need a Chinese phone number.  Any special forms of payment? 2. Are people still using the north main entrance or some other entrance now? I haven't visited it for 14 years.

The online booking website now only has the Chinese version and it is true that a Chinese phone number is needed. You may fill in the one of your friend. The payment with Unionpay, Wechat and Alipay is accepted. The south gate is the only one for entrance, and visitors can get out from north gate or east gate.
