About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Pudong transit

Just FYI.... If you already have a boarding pass for your next flight leg, you'll be denied entry to use the 24 hour visa. I got here 10am and my flight is at 9pm. The officer saw my next boarding pass and denied me of entry. It happened twice already for me. Need more clarification on this. The reason the officer gave me is that I needed a hotel reservation to use the 24 hour visa.

Thanks for this information. Seems like immigration's previous 8-hour restriction has been stretched to cover the entire calendar day. Did the officer mention whether this will affect your ability to use 144-hour transit in the future?

The officer asked me for my hotel reservation and I mentioned that I'll be there only for the day and didn't need make a reservation. She mentioned that I need to apply for a regular visa if I wanted to go get in and not the transit one. I was confused and tired already so I didn't asked or argue the specifics. Sorry.
