Question

Hi, We are airline employees and would to fly from Detroit - Shanghai, stay for 65 hours and fly back Shanghai - Detroit.  Is this possible under the 72 or 144 hour travel without Visa program? Thank you!

Not possible. It's not travel without visa, it's TRANSIT without visa, and USA-China-USA isn't a transit. You also need confirmed tickets, and stand-by is not allowed.
