About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

240 hr non visit visit

Want to go from Texas (transit thru Seoul) to Beijing.
Beijing for 8or 9 days
The. Seoul for 3 days & return to Texas. Is that acceptable?
Or do I have to visit somewhere else on The way home?

Unfortunately, your itinerary is not eligible for any kind of visa free transit scheme. The very basic rule of 240 hour visa free transit clearly requires that the immediate points before and after your mainland China visit have to be in two different countries or eligible territories (eligible territories are Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau). As you can see, your both immediate points are in South Korea and that is considered as round trip and not as a transit. In order to make your itinerary eligible, you should insert a third country. For example US - South Korea - Beijing - Japan - South Korea - US. Have a nice visit to this part of the world.
