About:144-hour Visa-free Transit in Beijing, Tianjin & Hebei

I have a British passport. Am I eligible for the 144 hour free visa transit?

I want to travel to China but do not want a hassle of applying China Visa.
I am thinking to buy the flight ticket from London To Beijing, then, stay Beijing for 144 hours, buy another flight ticket from Beijing to Taiwan/Marcu/Hong Kong, buy another flight from Taiwan/Marcu/Hong Kong to London. I have a British passport.
Am I eligible for the 144 hour free visa transit?

If you fly Country A-Beijing (144 hours)-Country B on non-stop flights then you won't need a visa. Country B must not be China or Country A, but Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are all ok for Country B.
