About:China Visa Application in USA

I am a british citizen- how long is a tourist visa valid for in china

I plan to travel for 3 months

Usually a Chinese tourist L type is valid for 3 months, but you can apply for a 2-year one which costs the same as single-entry 3 months one. The 2-year one will allow you to enter and exit China for multiple times within 2 years.

How can I apply for a 2 year one? Should I say I want to travel more than once in two years? Is it easy to obtain? I’ll be applying from Bangkok

The required documents and application form are the same as the application for single-entry tourist L type. I'm afraid you cannot get the 2 year one if you don't make the application from your home country, but you can give it a try. First, you need to provide a filled-out application form affixed with passport-style photos, your passport and its photocopy, round trip air tickets and hotel reservation, residence permit or valid visa in Thailand. Next, submit the application to the CVASC.

I contacted them and they said I could only get a 30 day one from Bangkok - do you think any agency in HK could offer this service as I would prefer not having to return to the UK - or do you really think this is the only option for the 2 year visa?
