I am a Canadian from Montreal, work for Air Canada, looking to go on standby (no confirm ticket) to Shanghai for 1 week.
I would like to know will that be ok if i don't have a confirm ticket. Also can you please let me know how much will cost to apply a visa?

Kindly advise,

Hi, if you go to Shanghai for work, it's okay to apply for the Chinese visa without confirmed ticket. Usually, it will cost CAD145.99 per person.

I'm afraid you need the confirmed tickets to apply for a tourist L type before the trip. But I'm sorry I cannot guarantee that, and you can contact the CVASC to confirm this.
