Will it be difficult to travel in Beijing, Guilin, or by train during the April 28- May 1 Holiday?

I am planning a trip to arrive in Beijing on April 28 and then go to Guilin by train on April 30 for several days. Do you think it is better to start in Guilin and avoid traveling by train until after May 1?
