Seoul-Beijing-Seoul clearly isn't a transit, so you'd need a visa for that.

Seoul - Beijing - Seoul is not a transit and you have to apply for a visa.

Seoul -Shanghai - ? if you fly to a third country other than S.Korea then you´re fine for the 144h twov.

If you travel Guam-Seoul-Beijing-Guam, you will be eligible for the 144 hour TWOV.
