About:Apply for China Visa in a Third Country

I’m studying abroad in Greece for the next few months, with a student visa,

and am an American citizen. I wanted to visit China and know there’s a Chinese embassy nearby here in Athens, but does anyone know if they’ll grant me a tourist L type since I’m not a resident here?

Chris, it is possible for you to get tourist L type from the embassy of China in Greece. Give it a try directly.
