airport t3 to forbidden city + tiananmen sq early morning

Hello, we arrive to the airport at 4 am and have 9 hour layover. During that time we would like to see forbidden city + tian anmen sq. What is the best way to get there early morning? What time airport express and subway start to operate? Thank you.

Well, you can have a visit to the square, but may only appreciate the Forbidden City’s appearance. Anyway, you should take airport express to Dongzhimen to transfer to subway line 2. Then, go to Jianguomen to transfer to line 1. Get off at Tian’anmen East, and walk north through the square, you will see Forbidden City. The first airport express leaves at 6:22 from T3 subway station.
